Review & Moderation Policy

This policy applies to Rateio (“the Company”), a UK-based online platform operating a workplace review directory that allows individuals to leave anonymous reviews of their employers.

This policy is written in accordance with UK law and best practice.

Purpose

This policy explains how reviews are submitted, published, moderated, amended, or removed on the Rateio platform.

Rateio operates as a neutral platform provider and does not endorse or verify the accuracy of reviews.

Review Submission

  • Reviews may be submitted anonymously.
  • Reviewers must submit content based on their genuine workplace experience.
  • Reviews must relate to employment, engagement, or recruitment experiences.

Post-Moderation Model

  • Reviews are generally published shortly after submission.
  • Moderation occurs after publication.
  • Rateio reserves the right to review, edit, restrict visibility of, or remove content at any time.

Prohibited Content

Reviews must not:

  • Contain defamatory statements presented as fact
  • Include hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory language
  • Include personal data (names, emails, phone numbers)
  • Contain threats, abuse, or incitement
  • Be deliberately false or misleading

Takedowns and Amendments

Rateio may remove or amend reviews where:

  • Content breaches this policy
  • There is a credible legal complaint
  • A court order or lawful request is received

Where appropriate, Rateio may request further information from the reviewer or employer.

No Guarantee of Publication

Rateio does not guarantee that any review will remain published or visible indefinitely.
